March 31, 2011

Today is our first day of filming.  Noel was sick so we dont know for sure if we are still doing it or not.  Mr. P. showed me how to use the camera so I'm pretty confident.  I'm pretty excited because it is the first day that we are acually starting the play.  I have a good feeling that this is going to turn out good because we all know what we have to do.  Day #1 is about to end. Ready for day 2!!!

My Schedule

For my schedule, I'm mostly free on weekdays after schools.  Weekends are not a good time because I may be out of town.  I we can, I would prefer it to film after school.

So far we got a few spots for filming.  For some of the fight scenes we were thinking about filming at the war memorial or my the bike racks.  Also for the scene where Juliet is asking herself why Romeo was banished, we were thinking about filming it in someones bedroom.  The bedroom that we film in is going to have to be nice/fancy.  We are still trying to think of a place to film for the scene when they're in the tomb.  If anyone has any ideas, please post a comment.

Whenever I watch movies, I always notice how still the cammera is.  I'm going to need some sort of tripod or table that I can rest the camera on.  I can either do that or just hold it my self.  If I hold it myself, it will look like someone that is at the scene is watching it (like a POV).  It doesn't really matter to me. If anyone has another idea, please post it in the comments section. I will be checking it every day to see your ideas.

So far as a cameraman, we havent really got anything yet.  Matt and I thiught that it would be easier to scout the spots for shooting after we uderstand the whole act.  This is because for some of the fighting scenes, I have to be in a spot where I can see both people and at the same time, be able to hold a camera still.  I was wondering if it would look better if Ishot from a high location and have an angle looking down or have a low location and have an angle looking up.  If none of those look good, I could always just stay at an eye level view.

Cameraman

For the Romeo and Juliet play, I have a very important part. I am the cameraman.  My responsibilities are to work close with the director and find good places to shoot the fotage.  As the cameraman I also have to help with the final editing. The last thing I have to do (which is the easiest) is edit my blog twice a week. I need to post pictures of the locations of where I'll be shooting. The reason I picked the cameraman is because I love workin with cameras.  Without a cameraman, the kids in Van Meter would not be able to see our production.
